Intake
An initial intake for ABA services involves gathering detailed information about the child’s developmental history, behavioral concerns, and specific goals. This is followed by direct observation, skill assessments, and a functional behavior assessment. The behavior analyst uses this information to develop an individualized treatment plan, which includes targeted goals, specific ABA strategies, and parent training to support progress both in therapy and at home. The intake also involves discussing logistics such as scheduling, insurance, and communication channels to ensure a coordinated approach.
